Since 1985, First Night Northampton has filled Paradise City with a 12-hour, family-friendly festival of the arts, culminating in a traditional ball-raising from the roof of the Hotel Northampton. Gather with friends, neighbors, and visitors at over 20 terrific downtown venues for an astounding array of entertainment presented by hundreds of talented performers.
Offbeat Womyn's Drumming EnsembleOffbeat Womyn's Drumming Ensemble have been performing together for more than a decade. Our sound is influenced by a variety of drumming traditions, but predominantly African. We play both hand and stick drums. We honor the origin stories and cultural roots of the rhythms we play, and receive them indirectly from African drum masters who support our sharing of them. We enjoy bringing vibrant, high energy performances to community events, like Pride parades and non-profit fundraisers.
