Tuesday, December 31, 2024 Happy New Year! You’re invited to attend First Night—Northampton’s most beloved signature event. Since 1985, First Night Northampton has filled Paradise City with a 12-hour, family-friendly festival of the arts, culminating in a traditional ball-raising from the roof of the Hotel Northampton. Gather with friends, neighbors, and visitors at over 20 terrific downtown venues for an astounding array of entertainment presented by hundreds of talented performers.
Northampton High School’s A Cappella group, The Northamptones, have a rich history and connection to the Pioneer Valley community. Each year this group of Northampton High students comes together to sing a variety of pop, rock, and jazz repertoire, and while the members change from year to year, the music-making stays at the center of the group’s passion. Over the last 20 years, the “Tones” have sung numerous times at venues including the Academy of Music, John M. Greene Hall, Gateway City Arts, the Iron Horse, the State House, and even Fenway Park. Keep an eye out for them across the Valley and keep our love of A Cappella alive!
